Cannabis Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cannabutter (see note on making cannabutter)

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare Cannabutter (If Not Made Already):

To make cannabutter, slowly heat ground cannabis and butter together over low heat for 2-3 hours, allowing the THC to infuse. Strain out the plant material and let the butter cool before using in the recipe. You can control potency by adjusting the amount of cannabis used during infusion.

2. Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

3. Melt the Cannabutter:

In a large saucepan, melt the cannabutter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

4. Mix Wet Ingredients:

Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Add Dry Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Don’t overmix.

6. Add Optional Mix-ins:

If using, fold in the chocolate chips or chunks and chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.

7. Pour into Pan:

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.

8. Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly fudgy. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs (not completely dry).

9. Cool and Cut:

Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing into squares.

Important Notes:

  • Dosage Control: Be mindful of the potency of your cannabutter. If unsure of the strength, it's better to start with a smaller serving to gauge the effects.

  • Storage: These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or refrigerated for longer shelf life.
